New Yorker Access

We are so sorry, but changes to Conde Nast's offerings have left us without our group subscription to The New Yorker. Thankfully, we have some other access options that work wonderfully once you get them set up. We hope our instructions here will be enough, but if you need help please come talk to any Cox Librarian.

Option 1 - Print Subscription

The Cox Library still receives its print subscription to The New Yorker and you can come peruse the last 2 months of the publication in print.

Option 2 - Sora

Sora, our ebook and audiobook platform, has all issues of the New Yorker back to 2022. Sora has a wealth of other magazines, eBooks, and audiobooks that are great for academic use and personal enjoyment.

Option 3 - Academic Search Ultimate

If you are looking for older issues, you can find them on Academic Search Ultimate. This database has coverage from the present back to January 3, 2004. These articles are in database format which is different than the interactive Sora version above (or the Flipster version below). It may be missing some images and formatting, but it does have the most extensive coverage.

A BPL eCard is one of the best parts of living in Massachusetts - so many amazing resources are available to you! You will need to get a BPL eCard to access their digital resources, but it's easy and we have instructions right on this page!

Among other benefits, the BPL provides access to multiple platforms (Flipster, Boundless & PressReader) with hundreds of periodicals from around the globe. Flipster is a digital magazine service that allows you to read issues in a browser or in their app. They maintain access to the last 10 years of The New Yorker (currently back to 10/5/2015).
