How to Complete Station 3

Welcome to Station 3! This station guides you through finding ebooks and articles using the Search All function. On this page, you will find:

  • Demos showing you how to find ebooks and scholarly articles 
  • Activity 3A: Performing your own searches

Please review all the information on this page and complete the guided activity.

When you are finished, fill out the Google Form for Station 3 to let your teacher know you completed the module. You'll need a computer to complete this station and fill out the form.

Use Search Everything to find an ebook about Buddhism.
  1. Visit the US Library Portal
  2. Type "Buddhism" in the Search Everything bar
  3. Use the Source Type dropdown to select ebooks
  4. Click on the ebook title to view the catalog record
  5. Click Access now (eBook) to read the book

**When you are looking at the cover of an ebook about Buddhism, take a screenshot to use as your exit token.

Now find a current article about nicotine
  1. Return to the Library Portal
  2. Search "nicotine" in the Search Everything bar
  3. Use the Source Type dropdown to select magazines and academic journals
  4. Limit to full text articles
  5. Use the All time dropdown to limit to Past 5 Years
  6. Click on an article title to view the record
  7. Click Access now to open your article

**When you have chosen an article, download it. This will be your other exit token.

Take note of the big search bar at the top of the page. This is where you'll begin your research journey!
