The Experiment in International Living is the nation’s most experienced and respected provider of international education and experiential learning for high school students. For 85 years, our summer study abroad programs have enabled students to explore the world in a personal, meaningful way, and to develop new, enduring friendships through hands-on cultural experiences and homestays in 27 countries. With specific themes to match student’s unique interests and passions, The Experiment believes in creating educational experiences that positively impact both students and the communities they visit.

Welcome to our Summer School, created by the John Locke Institute for exceptional students to explore university-level Philosophy, Politics, Economics, History, Mathematics and French, in university-style seminars and tutorials, at a beautiful 18th century château, in the French départment of Calvados.

The Advanced Placement Summer Institute is a program that offers high school teachers the opportunity to improve their skills through short workshop courses, offered for graduate credit or audit. While our courses focus on curricular and pedagogical development and review of Advanced Placement course and exam material for new and experienced teachers, the opportunity to connect with fellow educators offered by the Institute is equally valuable. As a participant, you will discuss and share teaching methods and materials, all while gaining graduate credit and/or personal development hours.

The Pre-College Program offers many engaging activities beyond the classroom to ensure you make the most out of your two weeks on campus. You will have opportunities to engage with faculty, visit NYC, socialize with fellow students, and explore the Hudson valley. Mercersburg Academy extends its commitment to the global community with opportunities for summer study and cultural enrichment for international students. Nationally recognized as one of the top schools in the United States, Mercersburg is a private, college preparatory boarding school with a reputation for excellence that attracts young men and women in grades 9-12 from 30 states and 40 nations during the regular school year.

We offer over 200 courses, many of which aren’t available in school, and all of which are taught by university experts and industry professionals. Our most popular courses include Medicine, Law, Business, and Psychology - but you can read descriptions of all them on this page.
On our four-week programs, students choose two subjects, a major and a minor in the UK and Europe; a major and a workshop in America. The major meets for three-and-a-half hours, six mornings per week. The minor and the workshop meet for two hours, three afternoons per week.
On our one-week summer programs, students choose one major subject per week, and a different minor for each day. On our one-week spring programs, students choose one major subject, and undertake a wide range of social, experiential, and academic extracurricular activities every afternoon.

We're hoping to present a unique summer teaching and community service opportunity to the older students at your school, with a chance for them to make a positive impact on youth in the Hong Kong community.
We at Summerbridge are a local nonprofit organization that provides free educational opportunities to underprivileged youth, and our primary service is a Summer Program where we recruit talented older students, ages 16 to 22, from around the world to teach our younger students, ages 13-15, all of whom are coming from families facing socioeconomic challenges. The program is English-immersion and aims to help the younger students build confidence, learn about compassion, and foster a love of learning, all in a warm and supportive environment.

For over 50 years, Syracuse University Summer College has been giving high school students the opportunity to explore their artistic, intellectual, and professional passions while experiencing college life. Our 36 different 2, 3, 4, and 6-week programs reflect the richness and diversity of the majors and minors at Syracuse University.

As the world becomes even more connected, speaking another language is more important than ever. Participants in Summer Language Academy attend Arabic, Italian, or Mandarin classes where they learn vocabulary, grammar, conversation, and culture.
